Terms & community guidelines

The short version

Dog Tags is a free, unofficial directory for finding and running Wardogs clans. Use it to connect with other players in good faith. Don't use it to harass people, mislead recruits, or break the law. Moderators can hide content, suspend accounts, and remove clans that don't follow these guidelines.

Who can use it

• You need a Steam account to sign in. One person, one account — don't share logins or run multiple accounts to evade a suspension or stack clan votes.
• You must be old enough to use Steam in your country. Individual clans may set their own minimum age.

What you post

• You keep ownership of your profile text, clan write-ups, announcements, comments, and emblems. By posting them you let Dog Tags display and distribute them as part of the directory.
• Only upload images you have the right to use. Emblem uploads are reviewed before they go live.
• Keep clan and profile information accurate. Recruitment terms, trial expectations, and requirements should match how the clan actually operates.

Not allowed

• Harassment, hate speech, threats, or targeting someone for abuse — on the site or coordinated from it.
• Impersonating another player, clan, or the Dog Tags team; claiming a clan name or tag that clearly belongs to an existing community.
• Sexual content involving minors, or any content that sexualises real people without consent.
• Spam, scams, phishing links, malware, or advertising unrelated products and services.
• Cheating services, account sales, real-money trading, or anything that violates the Wardogs or Steam terms.
• Scraping, automated bulk requests, probing for vulnerabilities, or trying to overload the service.
• Posting other people's private information.

Reports and moderation

• Anyone signed in can report a clan, profile, announcement, or comment. Reports go to a moderator queue.
• Depending on severity, moderators may hide the content, warn or suspend the account, remove a clan from the directory, or in serious cases delete an account and its data.
• Staff actions are logged internally. If you think a decision was wrong, contact the moderators and ask for a review.
• Don't file reports in bad faith or to pressure people you disagree with — that's itself a guideline violation.

Clan ownership

Clan owners are responsible for their clan's content and roster. If an owner goes inactive, Dog Tags has a structured process that lets officers or long-standing members request ownership, with notice periods and moderator review before any transfer. It exists so an abandoned clan isn't stuck forever — not as a way to seize an active one.

Leaving

You can delete your account from settings at any time. It leaves the directory right away and is fully recoverable for 30 days by signing back in; after that the erasure is permanent. If you solely own a clan with other members, hand ownership over or archive it first.

Donations

Donations are voluntary and help cover hosting and running costs. They don't buy features, ranking, or moderation outcomes. Payments are handled by Stripe; refunds for accidental donations are handled case by case — contact us.

No warranty

Dog Tags is provided as-is, with no guarantee of uptime, data retention, or fitness for any particular purpose. It's a community project, not a service you're paying for. We may change or discontinue features, and we'll try to give notice before anything disruptive.

Changes

We'll update this page as the site grows and note the date at the top. Continuing to use Dog Tags after a change means you accept the updated guidelines.
