What's changed

The bigger changes to Dog Tags, newest first.

October 12, 2026

Dog Tags has a Discord

  • There's now a community Discord for Dog Tags: get help, report bugs, suggest features and follow news. Find it in the footer of every page.
  • Clan leaders get a private lounge there for early looks at features and arranging scrims.

Players wanted: bump your post

  • Officers can now bump a Players wanted post back to the top once a week, from the Players wanted section of your clan's admin page — so posting early doesn't mean getting buried.
  • Long recruitment notes are trimmed to a few lines with a “Show more”, so one big post doesn't push everyone else off the page.

Join a clan with any account

  • You no longer need to link Steam to join a clan. Signed in with Discord, Google, or email? You can accept an invite link, join an open clan, and set which clan's tag you wear.
  • Applying to clans with an application process still asks for a linked Steam account — it's what gives clans the Steam-verified badge to look for.

Invite links: pick your own expiry

  • Generating a clan invite link now lets you choose how long it lasts — 7, 14, 30 days, or never expires — instead of a fixed 7-day window.

Wardogs has launched

  • Wardogs' Early Access is officially live — congrats to everyone who's been waiting for this one, and hope you're enjoying the launch.
  • Zestafona, the third launch map, is wired in everywhere on Dog Tags: post or edit a scrim on it right alongside Bakurani and Ozeti.

Link your Discord while you set up

  • Creating a clan now asks for your Discord invite right in the form. Paste it and your clan card shows your community's real size immediately, instead of a lonely “1 member”.
  • The invite is checked live as you type, and it's attached to your clan the moment you create it — no separate trip to settings afterward.

A cleaner front page

  • The homepage leads with the clans now — a shelf of PMCs recruiting right now, straight under the header.
  • “How it works” and browse-by-playstyle come next, then upcoming scrims and the Founders Cup together in one place.
  • Every founding clan gets a spot, moved down beside the “bring your community over” invite.
  • Clan cards in a row now line up to the same height instead of leaving odd gaps.

Scrims: clearer from post to played

  • Every scrim now spells out what happens next — who still needs to confirm, what the host owes, and what to do once it's locked in.
  • Hosts can edit a scrim after posting — fix the time, change the map, and add the server details (name or IP, plus an optional password) that stay private to the other clans until every side confirms. Moving the time asks the other clans to re-confirm.
  • Nudges to confirm your team before kickoff and a heads-up the day of. Any clan in the scrim — not just the host — can mark it played afterward.
  • A scrim that locked in but was never marked played now closes itself a few days later instead of sitting open forever.

A clan's map, at a glance

  • Clan pages, Discover cards and the create-a-clan preview now show a dot-map of the world with the clan's regions glowing — pick your regions and watch your reach light up.
  • Clans tagged “International” light the whole map.

The example data comes down

  • Enough real clans have joined that the seeded example clans and players have stepped aside — Discover, the leaderboards and the headline counts now show real communities only.
  • Want to see the placeholders anyway? There's a “Show example clans” toggle in the Discover filters.
  • The “some of this is still examples” banner across the top of the site is gone.
  • The sample tournaments and scrims stay on as illustrations of how pods, brackets and three-ways work — still clearly badged Example.

Applying, names & community tags

  • Apply to a clan without leaving your current one first — even from an exclusive clan. If they accept, you get an offer and choose whether to switch; nothing moves until you confirm.
  • Community identity got an overhaul — a bigger ready-made list, your own custom tags (up to three, moderator-checked), and you now set the order they show in. Your top tag is the one that rides along on your Discover card.
  • Starting or editing a clan now tells you as you type whether a name or tag is free, taken or reserved — and hands you a few open alternatives to click if it's gone. No more losing a filled-in form to find out.
  • Your display name now tracks your Steam (or Discord) name until you edit it yourself. Changed it and want it back in sync? One click in settings.
  • Membership policy is simpler: a trial / recruit period is now just a checkbox you can add to any policy, not its own separate option.
  • Wardogs calls clans “PMCs” — you'll see that noted around the site, and searching “PMC” on Discover works too.

The Dog Tags Founders Cup — Season Zero

  • A free community tournament for Wardogs clans and coalitions is in the works — three-way pods, fixed prizes, and permanent Season Zero trophies on your clan page.
  • Registration isn't open yet — we're gathering interest to set the date and format around how many clans are in.
  • Register your clan (or yourself, if you're between teams) at /tournaments/founders-cup — it takes a minute and gets you first notice.

Scrims, coalitions & match reputation

  • Post a scrim — bring a server and a time, and two other clans challenge in for a three-way. Server details stay hidden until every side confirms.
  • Coalitions: team up with other clans as one lineup for a tournament or a scrim, ad-hoc or as a formal outfit.
  • Scrims and tournaments can be clan-vs-clan, coalition-vs-coalition, or a mix of both.
  • Post-match reputation — clans that show up and play fair earn Battle-tested and Trusted ally awards.
  • Add scrims and events to your calendar, or share them with a link.
  • Real Wardogs map pool (Bakurani, Ozeti) and the King of the Hill mode wired through scrims and matches.
  • Fixed: editing a clan could overwrite an uploaded logo with a default emblem — uploaded images now stay put.

Around the site

  • React to these changelog posts — 👍 🔥 🎯 🫡 🚀 the drops you're glad shipped.
  • Matches and Coalitions moved from “coming soon” to beta — they're live and open now, still moving, feedback welcome.
  • The homepage walkthrough now covers what opens up once you're in a clan: scrims, coalitions, reputation and rank.
  • Cleaner clan cards — the rank insignia and long clan names both fit properly now.

September 7, 2026

Clan identity & progression

  • Persistent clan rank — a Recruit-to-General ladder that climbs as your page fills out and your clan runs events, earns commendations and stays active.
  • Founding clans: early communities get a permanent badge and a head start on rank.
  • A new-clan activation checklist and a “clan readiness” meter to walk you through a strong first page.
  • Emblem builder — in-place crop, zoom and preview, plus a large military icon set.
  • Trophies and commendations across profiles and clans, with a proper trophy case.

September 7, 2026

  • Discovery filters apply as you change them and remember your last search.
  • Player blocking, clan moderation tools and a full admin backoffice.
  • Custom domain (dog-tags.dog), error monitoring, and rich preview cards when you share a clan link.

September 6, 2026

Dog Tags opens
