Privacy

What we store

• From Steam sign-in: your 64-bit SteamID, current display name, avatar, and public profile URL. No password — Steam handles that.
• Anything you add yourself: bio, region, timezone, languages, playstyles, an optional email address, and your clan memberships, applications, invites, announcements, comments, and events.
• Minimal technical logs (timestamps, error traces) to keep the site running.

Why

To run the directory: show your profile and clans, deliver applications and invites, and let clans manage their rosters. A verified Steam identity is what makes applications trustworthy.

Who else sees it

• Your profile, clans, and the stats you choose to show are public unless you set your profile to private in settings.
• Steam presence (online / in-game) is shown to other members only while you have that toggle on and a public Steam profile.
• Donations run through Stripe. Stripe processes your card; Dog Tags never sees card details — only that a payment completed, the amount, and a name if you chose to be listed.
• Optional email is sent through Resend for application and invite notifications, and only if you opt in.
• We don't sell data, run ad networks, or use third-party analytics/tracking.

Cookies

One signed session cookie so you stay logged in. That's it — no tracking or advertising cookies.

Your control

Edit or clear your profile fields any time in settings, leave clans, and set your profile to private. You can delete your account from settings: your profile leaves the directory immediately, and after a 30-day recovery window your name, Steam link, and details are erased and your handle is freed. Announcements and comments you posted in a clan stay, attributed to “[deleted user]”. Moderation records (any suspensions or resolved reports) are kept.

Example content

Clans and profiles marked Example are placeholder data created by the site, not real people, and will be removed as real communities join.
